- RADIUS clients in RADIUSdesk have a site-wide shared secret that applies to all of them.
- RADIUS clients also includes some improvements over the traditional way FreeRADIUS handles RADIUS clients (NAS devices)
Features available for RADIUS clients
Client Type
- By selecting a specific client type, the system can determine how an active connection should be disconnected.
- We support a growing number of client types.
- Depending on which profile a user belongs to, certain profiles cause the system to disconnect a user when a certain amount of data consumption has been reached.
- For this, it is important that the client type is correct so that the connection can be successfully disconnected.
Close stale sessions
- There is an option to Auto close stale sessions.
- This will close accounting records which has not been updated within the specified time.
- This helps to keep the system free of outdated accounting data.
Timezone
- In order for the system to implement certain restrictions, the time zone is very important.
- Specifying the time zone ensures that the correct starting point is used for time-based calculations.
Data Limit
- You can also activate a daily and monthly data limit for RADIUS clients.
