Support for various SSIDs per AP Profile
Background
- Several SSIDs are normally defined for each AP profile.
- An SSID is then in turn linked to an exit point.
- These defined SSIDs are applied to all APs belonging to an AP profile.
- One of our customers requires an option to define individual SSIDs/passwords for individual APs and at the same time have a single SSID that also applies to all APs.
- To meet our customer's requirements, we have made the following improvements.
Apply to all or selected APs
- When defining an SSID, you can set a flag to specify whether it should be applied to all APs.
Apply static SSID to AP
- When adding or editing an AP to the AP profile, you can now select from the pool of static access points (access points for which the Apply to all option is not activated)
- Once you have selected an item from the list, there is additional options to override certain values.
- These are:
- SSID
- Pre-Shared Key (if WEP or WPA personal security is set for the SSID)
- VLAN number if the selected SSID is connected to a VLAN exit point.
Visual indication
- To make things easy to recognize, we add a small visual hint in the AP list to show that the SSID value has been overwritten.
