Ethernet Cable

  • An Ethernet cable plugged into the WAN port of the hardware is the most common method of connecting the device to the network.
  • It is also the method used to initiate the other methods so that the system can download and configure the device with the information required for the other methods to connect to the network. (This is a one-time action)
  • For the Ethernet cable method to work, the device must be connected to a network in which a DHCP (IPv4) server is running to assign an IP address to the device.
  • You can then also configure the Ethernet WAN with the following alternative connection options
    • PPPoE

  • Static IP Address

  • network/internet_ethernet.txt
